One of the unique features about oriental people is that there are considerably many people with peaked or pointed mouths. Some have such pointed mouths that they sometimes look like monkeys. The reason the mouth looks pointed is because the teeth, gum, and the bones surrounding the mouth are projected forward. The protruding mouth surgery (bimaxillary protrusion surgery) involves "putting in" of the bones surrounding the peaked mouth. The peaked mouth realignment surgery is medically called "Partial frontal osteotomy" and gives the most dramatic and excellent results from the facial bone surgery group. Although a few years ago, the protruding mouth surgery (bimaxillary protrusion surgery) was not well known, the successful outlook of some celebrities that took part in the surgery has greatly increased its' demand. When I first began this surgery, there were only 4 other clinics in Seoul that performed this procedure, today it is quite popular and performed by many surgeons.
